Welcome to CSCC
The Charlotte Sharp Children’s Center (CSCC) is destined to become a model of excellence that provides high quality childcare and meaningful educational experiences for children, families and caregivers, college students, and senior citizens. Construction of CSCC is the first phase of a larger project called an Intergenerational Learning Center that includes four senior living facilities constructed near CSCC.
CSCC works collaboratively with colleges within the Texas A&M University System and Colleges as well as local agencies serving children and families. CSCC is purposed to provide learning experiences and activities for children and families, university faculty and students, and senior citizens to build social-emotional relationships, encourage language development, and provide mentoring and research opportunities between CSCC and various departments of study within the Texas A&M University System.
In April 2021, the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) preschool was renamed the Charlotte Sharp Children’s Center (CSCC) to honor Charlotte Han Sharp, the wife of Texas A&M University Chancellor John Sharp. Mrs. Sharp passed away on December 15, 2020.
Charlotte was a passionate advocate for enhancing the lives and learning opportunities for children and families. She advocated for high quality child care and early learning experiences that develop strong foundational skills for school readiness and achievement. Charlotte loved reading to and with children. Her interest in literature and enjoyment of learning and creating through art will always be remembered. CSCC will offer opportunities for adults to enjoy reading to and with young children.
The Charlotte Sharp Children’s Center will forever commemorate Charlotte’s devotion for educating, parenting, and serving children and families at Texas A&M University and in the Brazos Valley community.

Safety Matters! COVID-19 Precautions

Our Vision
CSCC is the first of five buildings that will be constructed as part of the Texas A&M Intergenerational Learning Center. The vision is to combine services for children and families and senior citizens by coordinating activities with TAMU students and faculty, local educators to provide quality care, and educational and health services.
Enroll
We are now accepting applications for enrollment for preschool children ages 2.6-6.0 years.

Curriculum
The preschool curriculum implemented at CSCC is named Ready to Advance (RTA). RTA is a comprehensive early learning program that includes instructional support and teacher resources that blend social-emotional and play-based experiences with academic learning.

The Future
The Intergenerational Learning Center and Charlotte Sharp Children’s Center (CSCC) is destined to become a model of excellence, demonstrating effective methods for high quality teaching and learning, effective techniques to address diverse needs, and provide onsite professional development and research to inform practice.
